Christmas Revels

The Christmas Revels: A Nordic Celebration of the Winter Solstice

Presented at the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth
December 14-17, 2017

Many warm thanks to the thousands of audience members who joined us in the Spaulding Auditorium at the Hop to celebrate the season with the songs, dances, and stories of the Northlands–Sweden, Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Iceland.

Please view the digital program, and be sure to show your appreciation for the many local area businesses who supported the Christmas Revels by advertising in our program. Also, learn more about our guest artists and tradition bearers here.

What is the Christmas Revels?

XMasRevels2015-53_cropThe Christmas Revels, a beloved Upper Valley tradition for the whole family, is presented annually by Revels North at the Hopkins Center for the Arts at Dartmouth College in Hanover, NH. We celebrate the holiday season and the turning of the year with singing, dancing, and traditions that span the centuries and the globe. Recent performances have featured the stories, music and traditions of the Northlands, Québec, Ireland, Appalachia, and England. The Christmas Revels would not be possible without the participation of dozens of children, teens, and adults who take on acting roles, join the chorus, and volunteer with costuming, makeup and hair styling. Auditions for the Christmas Revels will take place in late spring; rehearsals begin in September.
