Matt Young is a cartoonist and graphic designer originally hailing from the hills of West Virginia. He moved to Vermont in 2008 to get his MFA from the Center for Cartoon Studies in White River Junction and never left. He volunteers with Granite United Way, who awarded him the Give Award for leadership in 2011. His production co-op, the Appalachian Mortician’s Club, won 3rd place in the annual CATV Halloween-O-Thon competition (2013) (and took a special award for best soundtrack) and 1st place in the 48 Hour Film Slam (2014). Matt has produced comics, illustrations, and designs for the Hartford Historical Society, Upper Valley Life magazine, the Corporate Action Network, Dartmouth College, Granite United Way, and designed the logo and branding for the UVYP (of which he is a founding member).
